TIMIKA anti-corruption activist (NGO) Kampak Papua Johan Rumkorem spoke about the demonstration in front of the Papua Attorney General's office and the Indonesian Attorney General's office a few days ago (14/08/2024)
Kampak Papua assesses that the root of the demo problem originated from the request of the Papuan Attorney General'S office who asked PPATK for data from Johannes Rettob's brother to be brought to jakarta with indications of a TPPU.
"Johannes Rettob has been checked by the Papua Police, the KPK with PPATK involvement but not proven, and has been completed with an acquittal" said johan
We assess that in the Papua Attorney General's office, it is suspected that there is a pattern of political interests played by certain elements as a political vehicle with yesterday's demonstration allegedly not purely legal handling.
The case that was suspected against johannes Rettob, his party considered it legitimate with an acquittal by the corruption court until it reached the Supreme Court, had also canceled the prosecutor's request so that Johannes Rettob was free on the charge.
The case of johannes Rettob is considered to have met the criteria in the investigation and investigation process with an acquittal on the demands of the prosecutor. Johannes Rettob has gone through the inspection procedure from the Inspection Agency in detail from state agencies, but it was proven that there was no finding of corruption committed by Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob.
So we (NGO) kampak Papua assess yesterday's demonstration allegedly only political interests and not purely in legal handling.
"Yesterday's demonstration in several cities, namely jayapura and jakarta, we consider it ridden by political interests" he said
We ask that the Attorney General and the Attorney General of Papua immediately stop this process and do not use it as a political vehicle.
Jhon Rumkorem also described the problem of johannes Rettob as different from the case of ASN individuals who manage grant funds in the yapen Islands who have pocketed two pieces of evidence so that the case is appropriate to continue.
On the other hand, Chairman 1 of the Kamoro customary Consultative institution (LEMASKO) Marianus Maknaipeku also confirmed that his party was furious about yesterday's demonstration that wanted to damage the good name of Mimika Regent Johannes Rettob.
Lemasko assessed that the demonstration of a group of people in jayapuran and jakarta did not represent the voice of the indigenous people of Mimika, especially the Kamoro and Amungme tribes.
Marianus confirmed that he had received information related to yesterday's demonstration on behalf of Mimika students and Mimika Indigenous people.
"We (LEMASKO) have received information from students from Mimika who study there they do not know and do not participate in the demonstration".
We condemn the people who demo it, they just facilitated and very visible the action. We consider it a stray group, very caught once because they are not native Mimika.
"Stop using inhumane ways, we the people of Mimika also have time to develop and move forward, it is better for the state to just check the Mimika APBD on the use of budgets in several OPDs".
Lemasko emphasized that there should be no other party on behalf of the Mimika people, in any form of action we cannot emphasize.close it (rayar)
